Cafe BeanGoose can be found in one of the oldest houses on Holy Island, Selby House. It is in a central location in the village with sea views.
Our café is open daily serving delicious homemade food using organic, fairly traded and local ingredients. In addition to our cosy, indoor seating with real wood fires in cold weather, on warmer days we have tables available in our beautiful sunny garden full of birds and flowers.
The B&B accomodation is run by Lesley and Roger Andrews and is newly available on Holy Island. The accommodation above the café boasts a large family room overlooking the square with views across the sea to the Farne Islands, and a lovely twin room overlooking our beautiful garden. In our adjoining building, The Stable annexe, there is a large double ensuite bedroom overlooking the pretty garden and a double bedroom with views across the Market Square to Holy Island harbour.
Cafe BeanGoose is an environmentally friendly establishment. Our bedlinen is made from organically grown cotton. The water is heated by solar thermal panels and we use cleaning materials that don't harm our environment.
Cafe BeanGoose was recommended in The Guardian newspaper by travel writer Dixe Wills when, during August, he walked the St Oswald's Way: "....my room [Farne View] had one of the largest beds on whose organic cotton sheets I've ever had the privilege of sprawling, and the view somehow crammed in both the attractive village square and the distant Farne Islands."
